Pre-Operation Preparation

Before each use of an industrial oven or furnace, inspect the equipment exterior for damage or deformation. Check that the door seal is intact and provides proper sealing to prevent heat leakage. Verify the electrical system including wiring, heating elements, and control panel are all functioning correctly. Set the temperature, timer, and ventilation parameters according to process requirements before starting.

Clean the oven interior to remove any residual materials, dust, or contaminants from previous operations. Ensure exhaust ducts and ventilation openings are clear and unobstructed. Verify that temperature sensors and controllers are calibrated and display accurate readings. Check that all safety devices including over-temperature protection and emergency stop buttons are functional.

Operation Procedures

After completing pre-operation checks, turn on the main power and set the required temperature on the controller. Allow the oven to preheat to the set temperature before loading materials. Arrange items inside the oven with adequate spacing to ensure proper air circulation and even heating. Do not overload the oven beyond its rated capacity as this can cause uneven heating and extended processing times.

During operation, monitor the temperature display and ensure it remains stable at the set point. Check that the ventilation system is operating correctly, especially when processing materials that release vapors or gases. If processing at high temperatures, use appropriate heat-resistant gloves and tools when accessing the oven. Never leave the oven unattended during operation, particularly at high temperatures.

Shutdown and Cooling

When the processing cycle is complete, turn off the heating elements first. Allow the oven to cool naturally with the door closed to prevent thermal shock to the equipment and materials. For ovens with forced cooling, activate the cooling fan only after the temperature has dropped below a safe threshold. Do not open the door immediately after high-temperature operation as this can cause thermal stress to the oven lining and potential injury from hot air.

Maintenance and Cleaning

After each use, clean the oven interior to remove any spills, residues, or debris. Wipe down the interior walls and shelves with appropriate cleaning agents. Clean the door seal and check for wear or damage. Inspect heating elements for signs of oxidation, deformation, or damage. Check electrical connections and wiring for signs of overheating or deterioration. Calibrate temperature sensors periodically to ensure accuracy. Replace air filters according to the manufacturer's schedule to maintain proper ventilation.
