Simple ways to clean, oil, and check fixtures so they last longer and hold parts tight.

Cleaning

Wipe fixture surfaces and slots often to remove oil, dust, and chips. Use soft cloths and mild cleaners. Avoid sharp tools that could scratch the finish. Dry fully after cleaning to stop rust.

Oiling

Put a light film of oil on moving parts and contact surfaces. Use the lubricant the maker recommends. Do not over-oil, because extra grease traps dirt.

Wear Checks

Look at jaws, pins, and clamps for wear or bending. Replace worn pieces right away so the fixture keeps its accuracy.

Tightness

Check bolts, nuts, and pins before each shift. Tighten to the torque values given in the manual. Adjust clamp force as needed for the part size.

Storage

Store fixtures indoors, away from moisture and direct sun. Cover them when not in use. Move them carefully to avoid bumps.
