Pasta Cooler Operation Procedures
Operator Requirements: All personnel operating pasta cooling equipment must receive proper training and be familiar with the cooler structure, working principles, and operational procedures. Operators must wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety caps, protective goggles, earplugs, and protective gloves.
Pre-Operation Inspection: Before starting, inspect the conveyor belt system for proper tension and alignment. Verify that the ventilation system, including heat exchangers and frequency converter-controlled fans, is functioning correctly. Check that all access panels are securely closed and safety interlocks are engaged.
Temperature and Airflow Settings: Set the cooling temperature and airflow parameters according to the specific pasta product being processed. The frequency converter-controlled ventilators allow precise adjustment of cooling air volume to match production throughput.
Daily Maintenance Tasks
Surface and Interior Cleaning: After each production run, clean all product contact surfaces. The stainless steel construction and wash-down ramp design facilitate efficient cleaning. Side panels can be opened via hinges for access to interior areas. Ensure wash water drains properly through the sloped floor plate.
Conveyor Belt Inspection: Check conveyor belt condition, tension, and tracking daily. Adjust belt alignment if drifting is observed. Clean belt surfaces to remove any product residue that could affect cooling efficiency.
Ventilation System Check: Inspect ventilation fans and heat exchangers for dust accumulation. Clean fan blades and heat exchanger fins as needed to maintain optimal air flow and cooling performance.
Weekly and Monthly Maintenance
Lubrication: Lubricate all bearing points, drive chains, and moving parts on a weekly schedule using food-grade lubricants appropriate for the operating temperature range.
Refrigeration System: Monthly inspection of the Freon/glycol water heat exchanger system including checking refrigerant levels, inspecting for leaks, and verifying temperature control accuracy.
Electrical Safety: Verify all electrical connections are tight, grounding is intact, and control panel functions are normal. Check frequency converter parameters against specifications.
Safety Precautions
Always disconnect power before performing maintenance. Allow the cooling chamber to reach ambient temperature before entering. Follow lockout/tagout procedures. Never bypass safety interlocks during operation or maintenance.
