Daily Maintenance Procedures
After each shift clean metal chips and debris from the worktable dies and machine body to prevent buildup that can affect precision. Wipe down all surfaces with a clean cloth and check for any loose bolts or fasteners. Inspect hydraulic hoses and connections for signs of leakage. Verify that all safety guards and covers are in proper position before leaving the machine.
Weekly Maintenance Tasks
Add specialized lubricating oil to all guide rails and moving parts. Check guide rail wear condition and clean off old lubricant before applying new oil. Inspect electrical wiring and harnesses for signs of aging or damage. Test emergency stop button functionality and verify control panel responsiveness. Check hydraulic oil level and top up to the specified level if needed.
Monthly and Periodic Checks
Check hydraulic oil quality and replace if contaminated or degraded. Inspect hydraulic cylinders and pumps for oil leaks and proper operation. Clean contactors and relays in the electrical system to ensure normal function. Check die sharpness and accuracy replacing worn dies as needed. Verify back gauge positioning accuracy through test measurements.
Critical Safety Rules
Always wear safety glasses gloves and protective footwear when operating the press brake. Never place hands between upper and lower dies during operation. Stop the machine immediately if abnormal sounds vibrations or movements are detected. Follow proper lockout procedures when performing maintenance.
