Pre-Operation Safety Inspection
Before starting the bale opener, the operator must inspect the machine structure and appearance for integrity, verify that all electrical connections are secure and properly insulated, and confirm that all lubrication points have been adequately serviced. The work area should have sufficient lighting and ventilation for safe operations. All protective guards and covers must be in place and properly secured before operation begins.
Operating Procedures
The operator must be familiar with the bale opener's structure and working principles and possess adequate mechanical operation and maintenance knowledge. During startup, confirm that no personnel are within the machine's operating zone. Monitor the machine continuously during operation, paying attention to any abnormal sounds, vibrations, or odors that may indicate developing problems.
Emergency Handling
If the bale opener becomes jammed during operation, immediately stop the machine. Never use hands to directly contact the machine interior — always use tools for clearing blockages. If abnormal noise or odor is detected, stop the machine immediately, investigate the cause, and perform necessary repairs before resuming operation. All emergency stops should be documented with the cause and resolution recorded.
Daily Cleaning and Care
After each shift, clean the machine exterior and interior of accumulated fiber, dust, and debris. Pay special attention to the rotating components such as beaters and opening rollers. Ensure all cleaning is done with the machine powered off and locked out. Regularly check and tighten all fasteners and connections that may loosen during operation.
