Daily and periodic maintenance procedures for welding machines including dust removal and electrical connection inspection.

1. Welding Machine Daily Inspection

When inspecting internal or external terminals, the input power switch must be turned off first.

Regular Detection

  • Check if cooling fan rotation is smooth when powered on
  • Check for abnormal vibration, sound, or odor
  • Check for gas leaks
  • Check welding cable joints and insulation for looseness or peeling
  • Check for abnormal heating at cable connections and terminals

2. Internal Dust Removal

Since welding machines use forced air cooling, dust easily accumulates inside. Regularly use clean, dry compressed air to blow out accumulated dust, especially:

  • Transformer and reactor coils
  • Clearances between coil windings
  • Power semiconductor areas

3. Electrical Wiring Inspection

Regularly check wiring connections:

  • Input side and output side terminals
  • External wiring connections
  • Internal wiring connections

Check if terminal screws are loose. Remove rust to ensure good electrical conductivity.

4. Annual Comprehensive Maintenance

Long-term use inevitably causes housing deformation, rust, and internal part wear. Annual maintenance should include:

  • Replacement of defective parts
  • Housing repair and rust removal
  • Reinforcement of insulation degradation areas

It is best to replace all defective parts with new ones during maintenance to ensure welding machine performance.

5. Benefits of Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance and inspection reduce welding failures. Although it requires time and effort, it extends machine life, improves work efficiency, ensures performance, and enhances safety. This is an important aspect of welding work that cannot be ignored.
