Pharmaceutical Grade glacial Acetic Acid is a colorless liquid with a distinct sour taste. It is an organic compound, colorless liquid with a very distinctive sour taste and rather pungent odor. It is often referred to as the main ingredient in household vinegar and is the main characterizing ingredient. However, it is also used in many different products in many other different ways.

Vinegar products, vinegar usually consists of 5-20% Pharmaceutical Grade glacial Acetic Acid, diluted to indicate strength (called granule strength). Acetic acid is found in all types of vinegar, from weaker table vinegars to pickled varieties and more concentrated products. For modern medical applications, glacial acetic acid has excellent antibacterial properties and can be used as a preservative when used as a 1% dilution. It can be used as an alternative to prevent infection and kill bacteria. At lower concentrations, the acid is also effective at inhibiting the growth of pathogens, preventing the formation of biofilms and eradicating pre-formed biofilms.

Pharmaceutical Grade glacial Acetic Acid can also be used to produce acetic anhydride, adhesives and paints, and vinyl acetate monomer is actually one of the main products using acetic acid in its production. The reaction consisting of ethylene, acetic acid and oxygen over a palladium catalyst produces vinyl acetate, which can then be polymerized into many different polymers that are common ingredients in adhesives and paints. Also acts as a descaling and rust remover.
