Test Bench and Test Machine Operation Guide
Test benches and test machines verify product performance, durability, and compliance with specifications. They range from simple manual test fixtures to fully automated test systems.
I. Test Bench Setup
- Work Area: Ensure the test bench area is clean, organized, and properly illuminated. Keep all required tools, instruments, and documentation accessible.
- Power and Utilities: Verify that electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other utility connections meet the test requirements and safety standards.
- Instrumentation: Verify that all measurement instruments are calibrated and within their calibration validity period.
- Safety Check: Verify that safety guards, interlocks, emergency stops, and personal protective equipment are in place and functional.
II. Test Machine Operation
- Review the test procedure or work instruction before beginning
- Perform a dry run or functional check to verify the test machine operates correctly
- Set up the test specimen according to the test standard requirements
- Execute the test sequence while monitoring for abnormal conditions
- Record all test data and observations. Note any deviations from the expected results.
III. Maintenance
- Daily: Clean the test area. Inspect critical components for wear or damage. Verify safety systems.
- Weekly: Verify load cell and sensor calibration. Check hydraulic or pneumatic systems for leaks.
- Monthly: Perform a full functional test using a reference specimen. Inspect and tighten all fasteners.
- Annually: Professional calibration and certification. Replace worn components.
